21st Century Boy
He’s growing up in such a different world than ours. Technology is a part of his everyday life. He loves playing games on the computer and asks to send his Daddy email during the day. Over a bagel at Panera 2 weeks ago he asked me to “text Daddy and tell him I dressed myself”. Today in the car listening to the radio he would like both Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand and I Wanna Be Sedated by The Ramones to be songs on Guitar Hero. He’s played it a few times with his cousins! And we thought the Atari was the most exciting thing ever. Kids these days…

Resolution: Will try to post more frequently; funny stuff happens every day, it’s just a matter of taking/making the time to write.

Things I Never Imagined Hearing Myself Say v.3
“C’mon, General Grievous, it’s time to get in the car to go to preschool.”
Yes, he was running around pretending to be General Grievous.

Yes, I Do
P and I take turns reading in the bedroom while Little Guy falls asleep. Tonight was my turn.
Little guy said “are you going to sit and read?”
Me: “Yes, I will.”
LG: “Why? “(EVERYTHING gets a WHY these days!)
“Is it because you love me?”
Oh yes, sweetie, I do. More than you know.

Grown Up Stuff
We went out Sunday night in Philly to see Matt Hales aka Aqualung do a show sans band-he was incredible! We had a great night and got to meet him at the end. He is incredibly talented, and we’re all enjoying his new album. Little Guy likes his music too!
First Day of Preschool
Not sure why I can’t embed the picture slide show…but it’s going to be an interesting year! Little Guy was not thrilled the times I needed to be out of the room doing my co-op duties, dissolving into big tears twice. We’ll get there, slowly but surely. His teacher is fine with moms needing to stay for a while to ease the transition.

Summer Wrap-up
I have good intentions to post, but then get distracted by a small person clamoring to play on PBSKids.org or Noggin.com! We had a lovely time on our trip to Vermont. The weather left something to be desired, but was gorgeous on the day of my niece’s wedding, and really that’s all that mattered. We made it to the Smithsonian; Little Guy LOVED the dinosaurs of course. Never did make it to Port Discovery, oh well.
Looking forward to a busy Fall season. Twice a week preschool starts next week, oh my! I hope he does well on the days I am not co-oping! I think he will really enjoy it though. Also have a weekend at the beach coming up, and a visit to Pirate Weekend at the Maryland Renaissance Fair-bringing back the pirate ship stroller!

Concert
We got our tickets to the Disney Block Party concert at Merriweather next week-Little Guy is excited even though he doesn’t really know what we’re talking about! He knows we’re going to see They Might Be Giants, his absolute favorite music. I’m looking forward to seeing Dan Zanes too! I was in high school when I saw my first concert, kids these days get to go as preschoolers!
